Welcome to Cherokee Street’s Free Art Supply Library

The library is an outdoor cabinet in Saint Louis filled with free art and craft supplies that anyone can take and use. You can also drop off art supplies you don’t want or need so others can use them.

  • Take what you can use
  • make something
  • share your art with others

3409 Iowa Avenue, Saint Louis, MO 63118

WHAT: It’s like a little free library, but for art supplies (like paintbrushes, crayons, markers, etc) and craft materials (like yarn, beads, stamps, etc).

WHERE: The art supply library is just south of the intersection of Cherokee street and Iowa ave, in the Gravois park neighborhood of Saint Louis. Why here? To get to an art supply store from Gravois Park using transit requires 2 buses and 45 minutes- every kid (and adult!) should have easier access to creative supplies.

HOW: No sign-up or cost. Just local artists and neighbors freely supporting creativity.

WHEN: The art supply library is open for visitors all day every day except during inclement weather. When the weather is bad (or when bad weather is expected) the art library is moved to a sheltered area.

WHO: The art library is for everyone, regardless of age or income status.
