About the Art Supply Library

The Art Supply Library is a small outdoor cabinet stocked with free art and craft supplies for anyone to use. It’s a simple idea: reduce waste by sharing surplus materials, and make creative supplies accessible to everyone.

This has been a personal goal of mine since 2020. I wanted to create a space that encouraged people to make things, experiment, and share generously.

The current version of the library was inspired in part by Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens—a massive, immersive mosaic created from found and donated materials. That project celebrates reuse, imagination, and community involvement, all values I hope this little art supply library can nurture on a smaller scale.

Though it’s free to use and open to everyone, the Art Supply Library isn’t a nonprofit or formal community organization. It’s a personal project funded by me, with help from donations and the generosity of neighbors who share supplies.

By using the library, donating, or simply telling others about it, you’re helping keep art accessible and supporting a culture of creativity and sharing. Thank you.
